2025 Northland Industrial Hemp Summit

The 2025 Northland Industrial Hemp Summit will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2025 in Wahpeton, ND. The day prior to the event there will be a tour of Dakota Hurd, a local fiber processing facility based in Wahpeton, followed by a networking social.

​

The event will bring together farmers, industry leaders, innovators, and advocates from throughout the industrial hemp sector to explore genetics, cultivation, processing, and public policy. Attendees will hear from expert speakers on the latest trends and opportunities in hemp, as well as have access to Minnesota and North Dakota state hemp program representatives.

Topics include:

Growing, Harvest and Getting Product to Market – field preparation, equipment, harvest requirements, and contracting product.

​

Seed Genetics – growing for fiber, grain or both! The purpose will determine the varieties. Advancement in hybrids are ongoing, and we’ll have geneticists on the panel to discuss.

Processing – who are the regional processors, product quality and what is involved in processing, and what products are currently heading into markets.

​

Market Opportunities & Innovation – latest details on wins for animal feed, fiber & construction, seed and oil product and innovation coming down the pipe.

Regulations & Banking – state, federal and banking representatives discuss the current legislation, what’s coming and how to work with your bank.
