Applications Being Accepted for MDA Hemp Program for 2020 Season
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture Hemp Pilot Program 2020 application is now live on the Agency's website.
Please visit the Minnesota Department of Agriculture's Hemp Program website to apply online.
Renewing and first-time applicants will use the same form. All first-time applicants must pass a criminal history background check. After completion of the online form, you will receive in the mail a blank fingerprint card and instructions on how to complete the background check process.
All renewing applicants will receive their license via US Mail after completion of the online form and payment, provided their current license is in good standing. Renewing applicants do not have to complete another background check.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is licensing hemp growers and processors for 2020 under the authority and guidelines of the Pilot Program. The Agency is currently developing a state plan for submission to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the coming months and will keep license holders informed regarding USDA acceptance of the Minnesota state plan, the state rule-making process, and timing and logistics of the changeover that will occur when the Pilot Program is phased out and the Commercial Hemp Program begins.
